Guess what? Mojo Magazine is putting The Beatles on the cover again. Bet you didn’t see that coming. There’s a bit more to it this time around, though. The magazine asked 12 different bands to contribute to its first-ever vinyl release: Let It Be Revisited. Each band covers one of the album’s cuts, which have been assembled in the same order front to back as The Beatles’ original. Has Beatlemania ever really died?

Shades of grey. Rooftops in Casablanca, Morocco
One of the many rooftop shots I took while travelling through Morocco and Egypt earlier this year. The buildings are crammed together tightly in this residential neighbourhood, as they are in so many of the cities we visited on our trip. It was one of the only cloudy days we had. It’s a bit of an oppressive photo with the grey skies bearing down on the mostly grey buildings, but I like how you can see evidence of people’s home lives on the rooftops - laundry lines and satellite dishes.

Mogwai, “Scotland’s Shame” (from Burning)

Black and white should be the new 3D. It deserves its big comeback, as evidenced by this great snippet from the new Mogwai concert film.

“Songs of my youth” selection of the day: Girls Against Boys, “She’s Lost Control” (Joy Division cover)

Norma Fraser, “First Cut is the Deepest”

Jerry Jones, “Still Water” (find it on Studio One Soul)

Forgive the sad medium, love the wonderful song.
